Margot Smith Giuliani '60
Margot Giuliani, 74, a schoolteacher who taught typing and shorthand at the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington from 1968 to 1990, died of cancer Aug. 21, 2012 at the Brooke Grove nursing and rehabilitation center in Sandy Spring. The death was confirmed by her daughter, Laura Lamb.
In 2001, Mrs. Giuliani began working as a substitute teacher in the Montgomery County public schools, mostly in the magnet program at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring.
Margot Isabel Smith was born in Sauk Rapids, Minn., and raised in Washington. She graduated from the old St. Cecilia Academy in the District in 1956 and from the old St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Md., in 1960.
She lived in Kensington until moving to Leisure World in Silver Spring a year ago. Her husband of 40 years, John F. Giuliani, died in 2001.
