Jill Audet, 70, who directed the home-care and hospice department at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring from 1988 until her retirement in 1996, died Aug. 7 at the hospital. She had pneumonia.

The death was confirmed by her husband, Michael F. Audet.

Mrs. Audet was a surgical nurse at Providence Hospital in Washington before joining the Holy Cross staff in 1969. In retirement, she developed a home health aide training program for the Crossway Community, a Kensington-based aid organization for single mothers.

Angela Elizabeth Myers, widely known as Jill since childhood, was born in Washington and raised in Silver Spring. She was a 1959 graduate of the now-defunct Regina Catholic High School in Adelphi and a 1963 graduate of the nursing school at the old St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Md.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Silver Spring, where she was a eucharistic minister and coordinated the social concerns ministry, among other activities.

She was also a past vice president of a Silver Spring chapter of the Maryknights charitable organization. She did volunteer work with the Oasis senior services program, among other organizations.

Besides her husband of 47 years, of Silver Spring, survivors include three children, Michael P. Audet of Clarksburg and John A. Audet and Renee A. McCaw, both of Silver Spring; a sister, Patricia Myers of Adelphi; and eight grandchildren.
