Anne C. Heath, age 86, of Columbia, S.C. died Thursday Dec. 15, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin S. Heath, in 1995. She was born on May 24, 1919, in Columbia and was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Eliza Claffey Collins. She was a graduate of St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Md., and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served on a hospital ship in the European Theatre during WWII, and also as a private pilot and Eastern Airline stewardess. While a resident of Liberty, Mo., she was a member of the St. James Catholic Church and attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia. Survivors include one son, Michael S. Heath of Steamboat, Colo.; one daughter, Deborah A. Drew of Conway; one brother, Robert J. Collins of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Betty McDougall of Columbia, Mo.; and seven grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Joseph Drew and Marcus, Ian, and Danielle Heath.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Heath; two brothers, George W. Collins and David H. Collins; and one sister, Mary Louise Dillon. A Mass service was held at noon yesterday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. No visitation will be held. Graveside services are at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Hardy Cemetery in Hardy. Officiating at the burial will be the pastor of the St. Michael Church of Cherokee Village. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Dumbar Funeral Home is assisting the family at the Devine Street Chapel at Columbia, S.C. Local arrangements are under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Services Inc. in Hardy.
