Helene M. Stump Clark, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2011. Helene was born in Frederick, Md. and resided in Hagerstown, Md., where she graduated from St. Mary's High School. She attended Chestnut Hill College and graduated from St. Joseph's College, Emmitsburg, Md. with a BA in Liberal Arts. She married James Dawson Stump in 1945 and following his service in the U.S. Navy, they settled in Atlantic Highlands. She resided for many years in Rumson, where she volunteered for the Holy Cross School PTA and Holy Cross Altar Guild. Recently, she was a communicant at The Church of the Nativity. She enjoyed the many neighborhood children who would come during the winter to ""Stump Hill"" for sleigh riding. One of her pursuits was travel. Over the years, she went to various locations around the world. Helene was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and good friend to those who knew her.

She was predeceased by James Stump; her second husband, Carl Clark; her son, James; and her daughters, Cecelia Fahey and Helena Burns. She is survived by her children, Roger and spouse Arlene Stump, Shrewsbury, Mary C. Gartland, Middletown, Christine and spouse Jay Carhart, Red Bank, Roberta Stump, Santee, Calif., Suzie and spouse Don Strohmenger, Atlantic Highlands, Jean and spouse John Dull, Amityville N.Y., and John and spouse Linda Stump, Davidsonville Md.; her stepchildren, Peggy and spouse Ted Reiss, Mary and spouse John Pilot, and Phyllis and spouse Gary White; grandchildren, Marykathryn Kopec, James Gartland, Heather Fahey, Scott Stump, Seamus Fahey, Kyle Stump, Evan Carhart, Laura Carhart, Mitchell Dull, Jarred Dull, Lillian Stump and Jack Stump; step grandchildren, Sarah Pilot, John Pilot, Michael White and Andrew White; five great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
