Remembrance Candles at SJC Reunion Mass

ANNA MARY BERTELLA QUINLAN died November 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Francis Quinlan, USAAC, Pacific Theatre. Loving mother of Pamela Quinlan Mateu and Margaret Quinlan, both of Quincy, Massachusetts and Lee Quinlan Beavers of Northborough, MA.  Mother-in-law of George Walsh of Quincy and Don Beavers, MD of Northborough.  Cherished grandmother of James and John Mateu both of Boston, and Emma Beavers and Lucy Brooks of London, England and Isabel Beavers of Boston.

Ann was born on September 20, 1918 in Bridgeport, CT.  She graduated from Lauralton Hall, Class of 1936, in Milford,CT.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph's College, Class of 1940, where she majored in English.  She had many jobs over the years.  She was the bookkeeper for her beloved husband's business, and also worked in the communications department of Talbots headquarters in Hingham, MA. Ann who trained as an English teacher went on to work as a substitute teacher at Quincy and North Quincy High schools retiring at the age of 90.  She loved being with her wonderful students.  Ann attended St. Boniface and Our Lady of Good Counsel churches. She enjoyed playing scrabble with her friends at the Kennedy Center.

Throughout the years Ann kept in touch with her many friends from St. Joseph's and loved attending reunion when she could.  She also would visit the retired Daughters of Charity at the St. Louise House in Albany NY, many of whom she knew when she grew up in Bridgeport and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital.  Ann often described her days at SJC as the happiest of her life.
